TEHRAN, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Wednesday that the United States has become an "unreliable" state in the eyes of the international community, which honors none of its commitments, according to Press TV.

Under the current circumstances, friendly countries should stand together and boost their cooperation, Rouhani said at a meeting with visiting Foreign Minister of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Ri Yong-ho.

Iran is willing to expand relations and cooperation on all fronts with the global community, including Pyongyang, Rouhani added.

Iran also seeks peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and attaches significance to developments in that region, he added.

The DPRK foreign minister criticized the U.S. decision to reimpose sanctions on Iran as a wrong move, saying the measure runs counter to international law.

Ri arrived in Tehran Tuesday for an official visit.

Earlier he met with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to discuss bilateral, regional and international issues.
