LONDON, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decrease on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.45 percent, or 34.88 points, to close at 7,741.77 points.
Fresnillo PLC, a Mexican-based precious metals mining company, soared 3.31 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. AstraZeneca PLC and Hargreaves Lansdown PLC increased by 2.65 percent and 2.27 percent, respectively.
TUI AG, an Anglo-German travel and tourism company headquartered in Hannover, Germany, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.53 percent. CRH PLC, an international group of diversified building materials businesses, dropped 2.50 percent. BP PLC fell 0.76 percent. Enditem
