Norway's Ingebrigtsen wins men's 5000m

BERLIN, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Jakob Ingebrigtsen ran to his second gold medal after clocking 13 minutes 17.06 seconds in the men's 5,000m final at the first edition of the multi-sport European Championships in Berlin's Olympic Stadium on Saturday.

After running to gold in the 1,500m final yesterday, the 17-year-old athlete wrapped up his second gold medal at the European Championships following a dominant performance in the 5,000m final.

His brother Henrik Ingebrigtsen secured the silver medal (13:18.75) and Italy's Yemaneberhan Crippa (13:19.14) took the bronze medal.

The first edition of the European Championships feature seven sports including aquatics events, rowing, gymnastics, cycling, triathlon and golf in Glasgow and athletics in Berlin. The competition will have more than 4,500 athletes competing for 187 gold medals until August 12.
