BEIRUT, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Around 150 Syrian refugees returned to their country Monday from Shabaa in Lebanon, local media reported.

"Around 150 women and children used seven buses and a number of trucks to move their luggage through Rashaya under a strict supervision by security forces," according to Elnashra, an independent online newspaper.

This is the fourth batch of Syrian refugees returning to their homeland from Shabaa.

Around 1,000 Syrian refugees returned from Shabaa to Golan Heights two months ago.

More than one million Syrian refugees are registered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Lebanon. The government estimated the true number of Syrians in the country to be 1.5 million.

The Russian Defense Ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs drafted a strategy last month to secure the safe return of Syrian refugees to their homeland.

The strategy aims at securing the return of 890,000 refugees to Syria.

Elnashra also reported that Lebanese Caretaker Foreign Affairs Minister Gebran Bassil will travel to Moscow on Aug. 20 to discuss with Russian officials the details of the strategy.
