BEIRUT, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Hezbollah, a major militant and political group in Lebanon, is now stronger than Israeli army, said Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on Tuesday.
"Today we are more confident than ever before, and we are stronger than the Israeli army," he said in a televised speech marking the 12th anniversary of winning the 34-day war launched by Israel against Lebanon in July 2006.
Nasrallah said that Hezbollah is much stronger today with its expertise, faith, courage and weapons.
"Israel has been threatening us for 12 years since the end of the July 2006 war, but at the same time, it has been watching and talking about our growing military capabilities," he said.
Nasrallah said that Israel considers Lebanon as a real threat to its security and expresses these fears internally.
"Israel also seriously takes into account any issue related to oil, gas and electricity, because it knows that it is faced by a strong enemy," he added.
