LONDON, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decrease on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 1.49 percent, or 113.77 points, to close at 7497.87 points.
Admiral Group PLC, a motor insurance company, soared 2.90 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. GlaxoSmithKline PLC and WPP PLC increased by 1.95 percent and 1.76 percent, respectively.
Fresnillo PLC, a Mexican-based precious metals mining company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 7.79 percent. Anglo American PLC, a multinational mining company based in Johannesburg, dropped 6.20 percent. Antofagasta PLC fell 5.66 percent. Enditem
