KIEV, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine's exports rose by 11.1 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2018, driven by the strong overseas demand for metals, local media reported Thursday, citing a report of the country's Economic Development and Trade Ministry.
According to the report, from January through June this year, Ukraine earned 27.8 billion U.S. dollars from exporting goods and services, including 6.2 billion dollars from the sales of non-precious metals, and 2.3 billion dollars from the sales of machines and equipment.
In the first half of 2018, the European Union was the largest importer of Ukrainian goods, accounting for about 35 percent of the total sales.
