Jilin officals punished in defective vaccine case

CHANGCHUN, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- A number of officials of northeast China's Jilin Province and its capital Changchun were given punishment on Thursday over the defective vaccine case involving Changchun Changsheng Life Sciences Limited.

A meeting of standing committee members of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Jilin provincial committee decided to remove Guo Hongzhi from the post of the leading Party members group secretary and director of Jilin Food and Drug Administration.

Bai Xugui was removed from the post of the leading Party members group secretary and head of Jilin Industry and Information Technology Department. He acted as vice mayor of Changchun in charge of food and drug administration from April 2016 to February 2018.

The meeting decided to remove both Zeng Xiangdong and Yan Haijiang from the post of the leading Party members group member and deputy head of Jilin Food and Drug Administration.

The meeting asked Lyu Feng, deputy mayor of Changchun and director of the city's public security bureau, to give a self-criticism to the CPC Jilin provincial committee, Jilin government, the CPC Changchun municipal committee and Changchun government.

Also on Thursday, a meeting of standing committee members of the CPC Changchun municipal committee decided to remove Tang Ruodi from the post of leading Party members group secretary and director of Changchun Food and Drug Administration.

The meeting decided to remove Zhang Wenge from the post of leading Party members group member and deputy head of Changchun Food and Drug Administration.
