FRANKFURT, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index up 74.16 points, or 0.61 percent, to close at 12,237.17 points.
German multinational software corporation SAP won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.74 percent. Multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement and Deutsche Post rose by 2.59 percent and 2.06 percent respectively.
Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 4.77 percent. Personal-care company Beiersdorf down by 1.50 percent. Multinational chemical firm Linde down by 0.73 percent.
Bayer was the most-traded share with a turnover of 910.65 million euros (1.03 billion U.S. dollars). Enditem
