BUENOS AIRES, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Over 30 officials from the Group of 20 (G20) met Thursday in Argentina's northwest province of Salta to discuss the digital economy.

During the Digital Economy Ministerial Meeting, officials focused on topics ranging from governance and digital inclusion to the development of technological infrastructure, according to a release by the group.

"The ministers and delegates seek to create conditions that will help the governments, the private sector and civil society maximize the benefits and face the challenges presented by technological progress," the release said.

The meeting aims to secure "universal access to the internet for all persons by 2025," according to the release.

They are expected to issue a declaration on the digital economy at the conclusion of the meeting on Friday.

Argentina currently holds the rotating presidency of the G20.
