DUBAI, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Friday has sent a congratulatory cable to President Petro Poroshenko of Ukraine on the occasion of his country's Independence Day.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, also sent similar cables to the Ukrainian president.
On Aug. 24, 1991, the Ukrainian parliament adopted the act of declaration of independence of the East European state.
In November 2017, the governments of both countries signed a visa-free agreement.
