TEHRAN, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Sunday that the United States has failed to win support from its allies in dropping the Iranian nuclear deal.

"From the moment U.S. President Donald Trump announced the pullout from the nuclear deal, the Americans have not achieved any of their desired goals," Zarif said in a live TV broadcast.

Even those countries not on good terms with Iran, such as Canada, have stood against Washington regarding the nuclear deal, he added.

The failure has caused the United States to wage a "psychological war" on Iran and its international partners, the minister noted.

Washington decided on May 8 to quit the Iranian nuclear deal and vowed to reimpose sanctions, including oil embargo, on the Islamic republic.

The U.S. withdrawal from the deal has sparked widespread criticism from the international community including the EU, which is working with Iran to develop mechanisms to salvage the nuke deal and Iran's economic interests under the deal.
