HOUSTON, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- The Albuquerque International Sunport, the largest commercial airport in the U.S. state of New Mexico, was lockdown Sunday morning due to an alleged suicide attempt.

According to Albuquerque Police, the police officers and negotiators were at the Sunport Sunday morning trying to help a person who harmed himself, which resulted in all inbound and outbound flights cancelled.

Meanwhile, the police tweeted that the man who harmed himself at the Sunport "is not a threat to anyone else."

The Sunport is a public airport, about 5 km southeast of downtown Albuquerque which is the largest city in the State of New Mexico. The airport serves Albuquerque and Santa Fe, the capital city of New Mexico, handling almost four million passengers in 2017.

On June 27, a bomb squad cleared a bag left unattended near the Sunport's ticketing area Wednesday morning, lifting a brief shutdown that lasted about an hour.
