DPR Korea's Kim wins weightlifting women's +75kg title at Asiad

JAKARTA, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- DPR Korea's Kim Kuk-hyang took the gold medal from the women's +75kg event at the 2018 Asian Games weightlifting competition on Monday.

Kim lifted 126kg from the snatch and 165kg from the clean and jerk to total 291kg for the gold.

Kim in the snatch lifted barbells on all attempts, namely 120kg, 123kg and 126kg, while in the clean and jerk she failed on the third attempt for 167kg, but her successful lift in her second attempt of 165kg was enough to secure the gold medal.

Silver medalist Son Young-hee, an athlete from South Korea, had a total of 282kg after lifting 122kg from the snatch and 160kg from the clean and jerk.

Thailand's lifter Chaidee Duangaksom won the bronze with a total of 280kg.
