BEIJING, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan met with Beninese President Patrice Talon on Saturday ahead of the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

Wang said China welcomes Benin's participation in the Belt and Road Initiative and encourages its enterprises to invest and do business in Benin. China is willing to expand cooperation with Benin in culture, education, tourism and other areas, he said.

Talon appreciated China's support and help for his country, saying the Beijing Summit of the FOCAC will consolidate the China-Africa community of shared future.
