Syria denies foreign attack on airbase west of Damascus

DAMASCUS, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Syrian army denied reports that an Israeli missile attack targeted a Syrian airbase west of Damascus midnight Sunday, saying a short circuit caused an explosion in an arms depot near the airbase, according to the state TV.
