U.S. dollar ticks up against other major currencies

NEW YORK, Sep. 18 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar rose in late trading on Tuesday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, rose 0.15 percent at 94.6444 in late trading session.

In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.1666 dollars from 1.1685 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was down to 1.3138 dollars from 1.3161 U.S. dollars in the previous session. The Australian dollar increased to 0.7215 dollar from 0.7181 dollar.

The U.S. dollar bought 112.36 Japanese yen, higher than 111.87 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar increased to 0.9649 Swiss franc from 0.9623 Swiss franc, and it decreased to 1.2983 Canadian dollars from 1.3026 Canadian dollars. Enditem
