SINGAPORE, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 1.17 percent, or 37.25 points, to close at 3,217.68.
A total of 1.63 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.71 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.26 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 261 to 156.
The STI index went up 0.12 percent, or 3.86 points, to close at 3,180.43 on Thursday. Enditem
