TEHRAN, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- At least 13 were killed and dozens injured in a terror attack in a military parade in the southern Iranian Ahvaz city on Saturday, local media reported.

A total of 11 Iran's armed forces who attended the parade and two others who attacked the parade were killed, the Political Deputy of Khuzestan Governor, Hossein Hossein Zadeh, told ISNA news agency.

Reports said that 31 others were injured, and most of the fatalities belonged to the Iranian Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

On Saturday morning, four armed men attacked the military parade in Ahvaz city which marked the anniversary of Iran-Iraq war in 1980-1988. Two of the armed men were killed and two others were arrested, said Hossein Zadeh.

Besides, Spokesman for the IRGC, Sardar Sharif, said that the attack was carried out by Al-Ahvazieh group which is supported by Saudi Arabia.

Al-Ahvazieh is an Arab-affiliated group which claims is fighting for the rights of the Iranian Arabs in the southern Khuzestan province.

Iran considers the Al-Ahvazieh as the separatist and terrorist group supported by Saudi Arabia.
