THE HAGUE, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- PSV won the top of the table clash in the Dutch Eredivisie, crushing Ajax 3-0 in Eindhoven on Sunday.

Without injured captain Matthijs de Ligt, Ajax were vulnerable, and PSV profited from this defensive weakness. Gaston Pereiro opened the scoring in the 21st minute from a rebound and three minutes later Luuk de Jong beat defender Frenkie de Jong to make it 2-0.

Ten minutes from half-time Steven Bergwijn passed Frenkie de Jong on the left side and after his shot was stopped by Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana, Bergwijn assisted Hirving Lozano for the third home goal.

In the second half Ajax coach Erik ten Hag tried to force a comeback with substitutes Donny van de Beek and Kasper Dolberg, but didn't succeed. PSV remained the strongest team and also the entrance of 16-year-old Ryan Gravenberch, the youngest Ajax player in an Eredivisie game ever, brought the visitors no luck.

With their sixth win in six matches reigning Dutch champions PSV lead the Eredivisie with 18 points, five ahead of Ajax, Feyenoord and Heracles Almelo. Earlier on Sunday, Feyenoord beat FC Utrecht 1-0 with Robin van Persie as match winner. Heracles Almelo defeated De Graafschap 4-0 on Friday.
