TOKYO, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened lower on Wednesday as investors who received the right to fiscal 2018 first-half dividends a day earlier were content to reduce their holdings.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 78.21 points, or 0.33 percent, from Tuesday to 23,862.05.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 10.52 points, or 0.58 percent, at 1,811.92.
Consumer credit, transportation equipment and wholesale trade-linked issues comprised those that declined the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
