FRANKFURT, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index down 188.86 points, or 1.52 percent, to close at 12,246.73 points.
Deutsche Bank lost the most among the blue chips, down by 3.58 percent, followed by German insurance and financial services company Allianz and chemical group BASF, which lost 2.66 percent and 2.23 percent respectively.
Pharmaceutical company Merck, chemical and consumer goods company Henkel and housing association Vonovia were the top three winners, rising 0.74 percent, 0.20 percent and 0.14 percent respectively.
BASF was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 406.60 million euros (470.68 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
