BEIJING, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- A senior Chinese official stressed implementing tasks of advancing law-based governance in all areas.

Guo Shengkun, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Commission for the Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a meeting held on Friday.

The Commission for Law-based Governance of the CPC Central Committee has made clear this year's work priorities at its first meeting held in late August.

Guo, who also heads the Office of the Commission for Law-based Governance of the CPC Central Committee, urged efforts to uphold the centralized and unified leadership of the Party over advancing law-based governance in all areas.

He called on officials to be more purposeful and active both in thinking and actions to advance law-based governance.

Officials were required to put forward measures and set a timetable for completing the tasks of advancing law-based governance in all fields.
