TASHKENT, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- The consumer price index (CPI) of Uzbekistan, which measures changes in the prices paid by the consumer sector, rose 8.1 percent year-on-year in the first nine months, the State Statistics Committee said on Monday.

In September, prices for goods and services increased by 1.8 percent on average. In the first nine months, however, prices for goods increased by 7.4 percent and prices for services went up by 10.1 percent.

The level of inflation was influenced by the liberalization of regulated prices for individual goods, seasonal price fluctuations, as well as changes in the positions of the national currency.
