JERUSALEM, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Israeli defense electronics company Elbit Systems said on Tuesday that it will supply the British Armed Forces a battle management application for 52 million U.S. dollars.

Elbit's software will be integrated into the British "Morpheus" project to upgrade communications equipment and information systems.

According to the agreement, in the next two years, Elbit will adapt the software to the needs of the British ground forces and will deploy it to the computers used by the command and the tactical forces in the field.

The software was used by the Israeli army and has been embedded for years in its command and control system.

The application is based on "TORC2H," Elbit's command and control platform that has been delivered to many customers worldwide, including to the Australian army as part of its Land 200 Tranche 2 battle management system, as well as the Dutch army.

The application allows the command to locate the forces, receive and transmit information as well as activate the forces.

In addition, it allows field forces the best orientation because it reflects the battlefield, the location of the forces and the positions of the enemy.

Elbit Systems, founded in 1966, headquartered in the northern city of Haifa. Its shares are traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and NASDAQ.
