LUSAKA, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Zambia on Wednesday named a 24-member final squad that will play Guinea Bissau in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier next week.
Head coach Sven Vandenbroeck said the team need to get a minimum of four points from the home-and-away games against Guinea Bissau in order to brighten chances of qualifying for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations finals to be hosted by Cameroon.
"We are three points behind. That means, a minimum of four out of six to stay in the race, and six out of six to have an advantage over Guinea Bissau to have an open door to qualify," he said in a statement released by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ).
The Chipolopolo (The Copper Bullets) will host Guinea Bissau on Oct. 10, 2018 in a Group K game before facing the same team three days later in Guinea Bissau.
Zambia has one point with Namibia while Guinea Bissau and Mozambique both get four points. The west African nation is ahead on goal differences.
