More than 500,000 Brazilians to vote abroad for new president

RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Over half a million Brazilians living in foreign countries are expected to vote for a new president.

Several sites with times zones ahead of Brazil have seen voting wrapped up.

According to the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), there are 170 voting sites in Brazilian embassies and consulates all over the world.

The country with the largest number of Brazilian expatriates enrolled to vote is the United States, which has some 160,000 voters, followed by Japan, with 60,000 and Portugal, with 39,000.

There are also many Brazilians expected to vote in Britain, Italy and Germany (some 25,000 each), Canada (22,000), Spain (20,000), Switzerland (19,000), Australia (8,000), and Argentina and Paraguay (some 7,000 each).
