20 killed in car crash in upstate New York: police

NEW YORK, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Twenty people have been killed in a two-car crash in New York state, police confirmed on Sunday.

"The New York Police confirm 20 fatalities in Saturday's crash in Schoharie," police said.

"At approximately 1:55 p.m. on October 6, 2018 Schoharie County 911 received reports of a two car motor vehicle accident involving multiple fatalities," according to New York State Department official website.

The state police will hold a press conference at 3:00 p.m. at Troop G Headquarters in Latham to discuss the preliminary investigation into the crash.
