MANILA, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte will attend the day-long meeting of leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Bali, Indonesia on Thursday, a Philippine diplomat announced on Monday.
Foreign Assistant Secretary Junever Mahilum-West said Duterte will attend the meeting on Thursday afternoon and the working dinner that will follow.
Mahilum-West said Duterte will "highlight the government's efforts to improve its performance in achieving the sustainable development goals, urge all parties to strengthen support for micro, small and medium enterprises development."
Moreover, she added Duterte will also encourage deeper cooperation between the ASEAN, the UN, IMF and the World Bank so as to implement the ASEAN vision 2025 and the UN 2030 Agenda for sustainable development.
