MADRID, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Paco Alcacer admitted on Tuesday that he is enjoying a new lease of life after leaving FC Barcelona to spend the current season playing on loan with German side Borussia Dortmund.
The striker's form this season has quickly earned him a recall to the Spain national team, over two years since his last appearance and he is hoping to add to his 13 caps and six international goals
Alcacer joined Barca from Valencia two seasons ago in the summer of 2016, not long after his last international appearance for Spain, but his two years at the Camp Nou saw him score just ten league goals.
He has made three league appearances in Germany, but a hat-trick against Ausburg at the weekend means he has already netted six league goals and that form, along with another in the Champions League, earning him a recall to from new Spain coach Luis Enrique for games against Wales and England.
"The fact is that I have to be happy to be back here with the national team," said Alcacer in a press conference on Tuesday.
"I had to take a decision and after two seasons at Barcelona without playing much, I wanted to be important again. Things have worked well so far and I hope they can continue like that," he continued.
"I didn't get the playing time I had hoped for at Barcelona and I am happier to be playing than not playing. Now my start in Dortmund has brought me back here and I will try and do my best," he commented, explaining he was happy in Germany.
"All of my companions have tried to help with the change of country and the different language. The faster you are able to adapt, then the easier things are," he concluded.
