Venezuela's oil output down in September: OPEC

CARACAS, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Oil production in Venezuela declined again in September, according to the latest monthly report by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) reaching here Thursday.

The report said Venezuela reduced its production by 42,000 barrels per day according to secondary sources and by 14,000 barrels per day according to the information provided directly from Caracas.

The report put Venezuela's oil production at 1,197,000 barrels per day for September based on information from the secondary sources, down 1,239,000 barrels from the previous month.

But according to the information provided by official sources in Caracas, daily production in September was 1,434,000 barrels, down from 1,448,000 barrels in August.

The secondary sources used officially by OPEC put Venezuela's average daily production at 1,911,000 barrels in 2017, while the figures provided by officials in Caracas put the average daily production at 2,035,000 barrels in 2017.
