MAIMANA, Afghanistan, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Up to 10 militants have been confirmed dead after the fighting aircrafts of the government forces targeted Taliban hideouts in Ghormach district of the northern Faryab province, a local police official said Friday.
A Taliban key commander Qari Nasir alias Ansar is also among those killed in the strikes on Thursday, provincial police spokesman Abdul Karim Yurash said via telephone from provincial capital Maimana on Friday.
A number of arms and ammunitions including three military vehicles of the Taliban group were also destroyed in the sorties, the official added.
Taliban outfit has yet to make comment.
