DOHA, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Qatar Press Centre (QPC) expressed its deep concern about the disappearance of the Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, state-run Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported Sunday.

QPC "has been following with great concern" the developments regarding the suspicious disappearance of Khashoggi since the first day, QPC was quoted as saying in a statement.

The center also called on human rights organizations to take urgent and strong moves on Khashoggi's disappearance, urging the investigation bodies to "prosecute the perpetrators of the evil with transparency."

The statement also confirmed QPC's rejection against all forms of target and restriction of journalists.

Khashoggi has been missing since Oct. 2 and is presumed killed after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

However, Saudi Arabia dismisses the allegations as "baseless."
