TEHRAN, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Iran will participate in reconstruction of Syria in the aftermath of the civil war, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi said here on Monday.
Iran has actively engaged in the fight against terrorism in Syria over the past years, and it will be present in reconstructing the Arab country, Qasemi said in his weekly press briefing.
The Iranian spokesman expressed hope that conditions in Syria would be prepared for the reconstruction of the country as soon as possible.
"Iran plans for its private sectors, businessmen and industrialists, to participate in the post-war Syrian reconstruction," he added.
Civil war has gripped Syria since 2011 and Iran, as the main regional ally of the Damascus government, has had a military presence in the Arab state.
