Mexico's Willars Valdez wins 10m platform gold at Buenos Aires 2018

BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Mexico's Randal Willars Valdez staved off a challenge from China's Lian Junjie to win the boys' diving 10m platform final at the Youth Olympics here on Tuesday.

Willars Valdez, 16, finished with an overall score of 609.80, more than 9 points ahead of Lian, who claimed silver.

Russia's Ruslan Ternovoi took bronze with 596.85 points.
