BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Slovakia's Lan Tominc secured gold in the boys' kayak obstacle slalom event at the Youth Olympics here on Tuesday following a gripping duel with China's Guan Changheng.
Tominc crossed the line in one minute 8.95 seconds, less than a second ahead of Guan, who took the silver medal.
France's Tom Bouchardon was third in 1:11.09 at the Puerto Madero course in Argentina's capital.
Earlier, France's Doriane Delassus won gold in the girls' canoe obstacle slalom event by edging out Germany's Zola Lewandowski in the final.
Delassus clocked one minute 26.08 seconds while Lewandowski crossed the line in one minute 26.86 seconds. Slovakia's Emanuela Luknarova grabbed bronze.
