PARIS, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- French shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.54 percent, or 28.10 points, to close at 5,144.95 points.
Of the 40 selected large companies, 28 lost in the day.
French multinational pharmaceutical company Sanofi advanced 1.05 percent. French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductor manufacturer STMicroelectronics rose 0.81 percent. French personal care company L'Oreal rose 0.78 percent.
Peugeot, French multinational automotive manufacturer, lost 4.62 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French multinational food-products corporation Danone lost 4.34 percent. Valeo, a French multinational automotive supplier, lost 3.36 percent. Enditem
