LONDON, Oct.17 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.07 percent, or 4.80 points, to close at 7,054.60 points.
British American Tobacco, a tobacco group, soared 3.38 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Rentokil Initial and Segro increased by 3.05 percent and 2.82 percent, respectively.
Easyjet,a low-cost passenger airline,was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 4.96 percent.
