Ghana raises 204 mln USD through three-year domestic bond issuance

ACCRA, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Ghana raised a total of 998.7 million Ghana cedis (about 203.6 million U.S. dollars) in a three-year domestic bond issue here on Thursday, book-runners have confirmed.

Total bids received by the end of the day amounted to 998.6 million cedis and the government accepted all bids at a yield of 19.5 percent, according to a report received early Friday.

The initial price guidance given by joint book-runners, Barclays Bank, Stanbic Bank, Fidelity Bank, Data Bank and IC Securities, was between 18.75 percent and 19.5 percent.

The joint book-runners have fixed Monday, Oct. 22, as the settlement date for the 2021 bond, which is also open to non-residents.

The government issued a total of 9.7 billion cedis (2 billion dollars) in debt during the third quarter and spent 7.9 billion cedis (1.6 billion dollars) on debt restructuring.
