BEIRUT, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Clashes between Fatah and Houthi in Mieh Mieh camp in southern Lebanon broke out Thursday, resulting in stray bullets in Sidon and Helaliye, local media reported.

"One of the bullets penetrated the house of one citizen in Helaliye but no injuries were witnessed," according to a statement published by Elnashra, an online independent newspaper.

Rockets firing in the camp led to panic among citizens in Sidon who called for the halt of clashes between the two groups.

Earlier in the day, Elnashra reported that two people were injured due to clashes in Mieh Mieh on Thursday.

Clashes between members of Fatah and Houthi started on October 15, resulting in the injury of 15 people in the camp.

Mieh Mieh camp is a Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon, located on the outskirts of Mieh Mieh village four km east of Sidon city.

The camp has witnessed tensions among its refugees in the past years.

Some 450,000 refugees are registered with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Lebanon, with many living in the country's 12 refugee camps.

Palestine refugees represent an estimated 10 percent of the population of Lebanon.
