Two BiH police officers killed during crossfire with robbers

SARAJEVO, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Two Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH) police officers were killed in a crossfire with car robbers on Friday morning.

At around 4:00 a.m. (0200 GMT) in the capital Sarajevo, two policemen opened fire on thieves while they were stealing a car, then the perpetrators escaped.

One police officer was killed and another passed away in the hospital due to a severe head injury, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Canton Sarajevo.

A further investigation is underway. The police didn't provide more details.

In the first half of 2018, 243 cars were stolen in BiH, and 150 of the cars were in Canton Sarajevo.
