BiH announces general elections results for parliaments, entity president

SARAJEVO, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH's) Central Election Commission (CIK) announced the results of the general elections for parliaments and entity president on Monday evening.

Results presented at CIK official website after counting the ballots showed that a total of 15 parties will enter the Parliament of BiH -- 9 from Federation of BiH (FBiH), one of the entities, and 6 from Republika Srpska (RS), the other entity.

Eleven parties entered the Parliament of FBiH, out of which, Party of Democratic Action (SDA) got the highest number of 27 mandates, Social Democratic Party (SDP) in coalition won 16 mandates, and Democratic Front (DF), 10 mandates.

When it comes to National Assembly of RS, Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) will have 28 representatives, Serb Democratic Party (SDS), 16 and Democratic People's Alliance (DNS), 12.

The future president of RS will be Zeljka Cvijanovic from SNSD, who won with 319,187 ballots (46.97 percent of votes).

The general elections officially started on Oct. 7 and the results of tripartite members of the presidency had been announced on Oct. 13 by CIK.
