TEHRAN, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Mohammad Baqeri will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan to boost defense cooperation and fight against terrorism, Press TV reported on Sunday.
Baqeri's upcoming two-day visit comes at the invitation of Azerbaijan's Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov.
The expansion of cooperation in border areas and the latest developments in the region are also on the agenda of the talks.
Iranian Defense Minister Amir Hatami said in the Azerbaijan's capital Baku in February that Iran remains committed to security of its neighboring countries and will help them maintain it.
The first meeting of Iran-Azerbaijan Joint Defense Commission was held in Baku in October 2017 with the participation of a high-ranking delegation from Iran's Defense Ministry.
