Brisbane Bullets sign former NBA star Lamar Patterson

SYDNEY, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Australian National Basketball League NBL side the Brisbane Bullets have confirmed the signature of 6'5" small forward shooting guard Lamar Patterson on Wednesday, for the rest of the 2018-19 season.

The former University of Pittsburgh player, now 27, was picked up by the Atlanta Hawks back in 2015 before spending time at clubs in Puerto Rico, Turkey and Italy.

During May of this year, Patterson also played for the Chinese NBL outfit Lhasa Pure Land where he averaged and incredible 45.2 points, 10.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game.

"Lamar is a player that has been on our radar for the past two seasons and has been till now out of our reach," Brisbane Bullets General Manager Richard Clarke said in a statement.

"The timing worked in terms of his availability and our opportunity and we are looking forward to what he is going to be able to bring to the team."

Expected to arrive on November 1, the club hopes to see the American in action as soon as November 4, when they take on the Adelaide 36ers.

The Bullets are currently placed 6th on the ladder, winning two matches and losing three so far this season.
