HONG KONG, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- The government of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) will participate in the country's international import expo to be held in Shanghai with over 160 Hong Kong enterprises to showcase projects, the HKSAR government said Wednesday.

The inauguration of the China International Import Expo, to be held in Shanghai from Nov. 5 to 10, will consist of the Country Pavilion for Trade and Investment, the Enterprise and Business Exhibition and the Hongqiao International Economic and Trade Forum.

A Hong Kong Exhibition Area will be set up by the HKSAR government inside the China Pavilion of the Country Pavilion for Trade and Investment to showcase major infrastructure projects, popular tourist attractions, and products and inventions, the HKSAR government said.

The SAR's participation in the Belt and Road Initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area development, its contributions to the reform and opening up of the country, and the implementation of the "one country, two systems" principle and the Basic Law will also be major themes, it said.

More than 160 Hong Kong enterprises will take part in the Enterprise and Business Exhibition, in which a Hong Kong Services Zone and a Hong Kong Product Zone will be set up to exhibit a wide range of quality products and services to international exhibitors and buyers.

The HKSAR government's Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Edward Yau will travel to Shanghai to attend the expo.
