SHANGHAI, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- A senior Chinese official on Sunday called on media from China and Russia to gather strong positive energy for the development of bilateral ties.

Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks while delivering a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the fourth China-Russia Media Forum held in Shanghai.

Noting that China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination is currently the best ever in history, Huang said that the forum has become an important institutional platform for news sectors from both sides to deepen cooperation and enhance friendship.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov also attended the opening of the forum and delivered a keynote speech.
