Indonesian shuttlers eye good performance at world's badminton junior tourney in Canada

JAKARTA, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian young shuttlers, who are vying in the world's badminton junior championship in Canada, have set a target of entering finals at the tourney that kicked on Monday, team manager disclosed.

The championship is taking place in Markham Pan Am Center of Ontario and scheduled to end on November 18, a total of 20 Indonesian young badminton players are taking part in the sport event, according to the country's badminton association.

"We look that our team can meet the target, it is namely to enter the final," said Susi Susanti, the manager of Indonesian junior badminton team.

The Indonesian team is in Group H along with Britain, Mexico and Austria.

Sustnti said she was upbeat that the Indonesian team will beat the opponents and win the group.

"Indonesia still has strength above the opponents in the group. We are stronger in the men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. And our men's singles is also strong enough," she said in a statement issued by the country's badminton association.
