TEHRAN, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. recent sanctions against Iran will target the Iranians "indiscriminately," Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said here on Tuesday.
The fresh U.S. sanctions against Iran are an "indiscriminate assault" as they "directly target the Iranian people," Zarif said in an online video message on Tuesday.
He lashed out at the United States for imposing "illegal" sanctions on Iran, saying that Washington will regret its "unwise move."
The Islamic republic will rely on its own resources and will weather "difficult times," he stressed.
On Monday, Washington imposed a set of sanctions targeting Iran's energy and financial sectors along with its shipping industry.
