CHICAGO, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) agricultural futures traded mixed on Friday morning, with soybeans rising significantly as the United States and China resumed high-level dialogue in Washington.

As of 1609 GMT, the most active January 2019 soybeans were up 6.5 cents at 8.855 dollars per bushel, while December corn was down 3.25 cents at 3.7025 dollars per bushel, and December wheat was down 4.5 cents at 5.0325 dollars per bushel.

China and the United States are holding their second diplomatic and security dialogue in Washington on Friday. Before the talks, U.S. Ambassador to China Terry Branstad met on Thursday with Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue on trade issues. Branstad later expressed his hope to "develop a framework than can lead to an agreement" with China.

Amid trade disputes with the United States and rising tariffs, Chinese importers have switched to Brazil for soybean supplies, which led to sharp fall in CBOT soybean prices.

U.S. farmers have urged Washington to resolve trade issues with China as soon as possible, so as not to lose their biggest market. Enditem
