CHENGDU, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- A total of 10,000 runners on Sunday competed in China Mobile 2018 Leshan International Half-marathon, which was held near the Giant Buddha of Leshan.

Ethiopia runner Gebreyohannnes Adeladlew Mamo took the title with a time of 1:07:45 in men's race. His compatriot Tesfahun Melkame Wale clocked 1:17:26 to win the women's race.

"The weather is suitable for running and the landscape is amazing. I came here for the win and I'm so pleased I made it," said Wale.

According to the local organizers, the runners who competed in this run could visit the Giant Buddha of Leshan for free, which took 90 years to built since 713 A.D., during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D.).

Except for the Giant Buddha, Leshan is also known for its delicious food, which appeared along the track to supply.
